Arlen's flying

The 1977 Commander 114
New Smyrna Beach, KEVB
As of  2008, I have 1400
hours in 22 years of
flying, having traveled
from Florida to San
Francisco, to Wisconsin,
to Boston, to New
Orleans, to the Bahamas,
and to everywhere in
between.
I recently sold my second Commander 114. I have previously co-owned a Cirrus
SR22, Cessna 182, Mooney M20C, and a Piper Lance.  I have Instrument and
Commercial ratings.  It's the ONLY way to travel....
We fly to Ohio State games,
to the California coast,
           to Arizona,
to Key West,
and to Lakeland for lunch.
Over the years, I have been involved in the politics of the local aviation scene.  I served on the New
Smyrna Beach Airport Advisory Board for several years in the 1990's, and am currently serving as
Vice-President of
Friends Of New Smyrna Beach Airport Inc., and on the City's Noise Abatement Committee
that was resurrected in 2008.  Recently, I wrote
this article on the history of the New Smyrna Beach
Municipal Airport.
